Finance adviser’s call to increase technology use in SME sector

Finance Adviser Dr. Salehuddin Ahmed on Wednesday urged journalists to increase the use of technology in SME sector.

The adviser said this while speaking as the chief guest at the ERF-SME Foundation Media Award ceremony at the Economic Reporters' Forum (ERF) office in the capital on Wednesday (July 2).

He said, financing in the SME sector is still a big challenge. Entrepreneurs face various difficulties in obtaining bank loans, even though their loan repayment rate is good.

Technology dependence must be increased for the development of this sector. That’s why bankers and policymakers have to become more active.

The adviser also highlighted the need for coordinated support from Bangladesh Bank and the Ministry of Finance.
