3 NBR members, 1 commissioner sent into forced retirement

The government has sent three members and one commissioner of the National Board of Revenue (NBR) on compulsory retirement.

Internal Resources Division (IRD) under the Ministry of Finance issued four separate orders in this regard on Wednesday (July 2).

The officials are - member (tax intelligence and investigation) Md Alamgir Hossain, member (Customs Policy) Hossain Ahmed, member (VAT policy) Dr Md Abdur Rouf, and commissioner of taxes Md Sabbir Ahmed.

According to the order, two of them have completed 25 years of government service. Considering that it is necessary to retire them from government service in the public interest, they have been retired under the authority granted by Section 45 of the ‘Government Service Act, 2018’.
