Dengue: 317 fresh cases reported in 24 hours

Health officials have said they recorded 317 fresh cases of dengue onslaughts in the past 24 hours with most patients reporting in health facilities in southwestern Barishal region.
A statement of Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) said this on Sunday.
According to the statement, during the period, (of the 317) 127 patients were hospitalised in Barishal division.
It said among the rests, 70 were hospitalised in Chattogram division, 52 in Dhaka division excluding the capital, 22 in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) and 26 in Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) areas, 13 in Khulna and 7 in Mymensingh division.
Since the start of the dengue onslaughts Bangladesh this year witnessed so far 45 deaths while the disease inflicted 12,271.
The DGHS, however, said 325 patients were discharged from different hospitals across the country after their recovery.
The dengue last year claimed 575 lives and inflicted 1,01,214 people in the country.
