Bangladesh-US meeting over tariff issue Wednesday

The US administration has announced a new 35% tariff on Bangladeshi goods, which is set to take effect on August 1. Before this deadline, Bangladesh aims to reach a trade deal with the United States.
Commerce Adviser Sheikh Bashir Uddin and National Security Adviser Khalilur Rahman are currently in the US to discuss the issue with the US authorities. The Bangladesh-US meeting on this matter will take place tomorrow (July 9).
Chief Adviser’s Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam announced the meeting in a Facebook post on Tuesday (July 8) afternoon.
