Tariffs may be reduced after negotiations at Washington, finance adviser hopes

Finance adviser Salehuddin Ahmed has expressed hope that tariffs may be reduced after negotiations with the United States.
The adviser made the opinion while replying to a question after a meeting at his secretariate office in the capital on Tuesday (July 8).
He said that the 35 percent tariff announced by the US on Bangladeshi products is not finalized yet, the matter will be settled through one-to-one discussions. An important meeting between Bangladesh and US trade representatives will be held tomorrow morning in this regard.
He also said, our Commerce Adviser went to the United States three days ago. The Bangladesh commerce team is also leaving today. Meeting will be held tomorrow morning. After the meeting, it will be clear about the matter.
