Landslide feared in Chattogram hill regions

The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has forecast heavy to very heavy rainfall in four divisions of the country due to active southwest monsoon.

In this situation, landslides may occur in the hilly regions of Chattogram division.

The BMD added in a bulletin issued on Wednesday (July 9) morning that due to active southwest monsoon, heavy (44-88mm/24hrs) to very heavy (>88mm/24hrs) rainfall is likely to occur in Dhaka, Chattogram, Khulna and Barisal divisions in the next 24 hours.

Besides, temporary waterlogging may occur in Dhaka, Chittagong and Khulna metropolitan areas, the bulletin cited.
