July massacre: Formal trial against Sheikh Hasina, 2 others started

The International Crimes Tribunal-1 (ICT) has ordered the beginning of the trial in the first case against ousted prime minister Sheikh Hasina and two other accused over crimes against humanity charges during last year's July-August uprising.
A three-member ICT bench, headed by the tribunal's Chairman Justice Md Golam Mortuza Mozumder passed the order on Thursday noon (July 10).
The two other accused are - Former Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal and former Inspector General of Police (IGP) Chowdhury Abdullah Al Mamun.
The tribunal has also scheduled a date for kicking off the recording of witness testimonies in the case.
Chief Prosecutor Mohammad Tazul Islam stood for the prosecution while state-appointed lawyer Amir Hossain moved for Sheikh Hasina.
