4 arrested in murder case in front of Mitford Hospital

Four people have been arrested in connection with the murder of Lal Chand alias Sohag (39) on the road in front of Gate No. 3 of Sir Salimullah Medical College and Hospital (Mitford) in the capital on Wednesday (July 9).
Police arrested two people in raids in different areas of the capital on Friday. They are Mahmudul Hasan Mohin and Tarique Rahman Robin.
In addition, RAB arrested two people. Their identities could not be found yet.
Kotwali Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md. Moniruzzaman confirmed the matter to the media on Friday (July 11).
OC Md. Moniruzzaman said, “Multiple police teams are working to arrest others involved in the incident.”
It is learned that a group of people brutally beat Sohag to death on the road in front of Gate No. 3 of Mitford Hospital last Wednesday.
Upon receiving the information, the Kotwali Police Station quickly went to the scene. The situation was brought under control. Later, the body was sent to the hospital morgue for autopsy. In this incident, the elder sister of the deceased filed a murder case with the Kotwali Police Station as the plaintiff.
Later, the police collected CCTV footage of the scene.
The deceased Md. Sohag was the son of Yusuf Ali Howlader at Purba Namabari village of Keraniganj Model Police Station.
He had been doing the business of scrap metal at Rajni Ghosh Lane No. 4 in the Mitford area for a long time.
Meanwhile, the video of the incident of Sohag being publicly stoned to death has gone viral on social media.
Many people have expressed their anger on Facebook, demanding exemplary punishment.
