BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman has expressed his anger over the failure to arrest those involved in the murder of businessman Sohag in front of Mitford Hospital in the capital.
Criticizing the interim government for not arresting the mob leaders, he alleged that the interim government is providing shelter to the anarchists in the country.
The BNP leader made the allegation at a views exchange event organized by Chhatra Dal with the families of 142 martyrs on Saturday (July 12) afternoon to mark the anniversary of the July-August mass uprising.
Sohag was brutally murdered last Wednesday. Two days later, when the video of the murder went viral, it created a huge reaction across the country. All quarters are demanding justice.
Tarique Rahman said, “BNP does not support injustice. The government is failing to provide security to the people. We are very surprised to see the incident that happened yesterday. Why has the government not yet arrested the person who killed Sohag? Should we assume that a section is trying to create a mob situation in various ways and it is being patronized by the government and the administration?"
