Islami Bank Chairman Obayed Ullah steps down

Md Obayed Ullah Al Masud has resigned as the chairman of Islami Bank Bangladesh PLC.
Islami Bank sources said that he submitted his resignation to the board of directors on Thursday (July 17).
Bangladesh Bank reconstituted the board of directors of Islami Bank on August 22 last year after the interim government took office. Meanwhile, five new independent directors were appointed to the restructured board, with Obayed Ullah Al Masud named as chairman.
On July 15, the Bangladesh Financial Intelligence Unit (BFIU) summoned the bank accounts of Obayed Ullah Al Masud and his family members.
