‘Uprising has opened new horizon in establishing democracy and rights’

Youth and Sports Adviser Asif Mahmud Shojib Bhuiyan has said, “The mass uprising of students and the people is a glorious chapter in our history. This uprising has opened a new horizon in establishing democracy and people’s rights in the country.”

The adviser said this on Friday while participating in a symbolic marathon organized to commemorate the glorious July-August mass uprising of students and the people.

He said, “By participating in this symbolic marathon, we are paying tribute to those great sacrifices and are trying to inspire the young generation with that spirit.” 

The marathon started from the old trade fair ground in Sher-e-Bangla Nagar in the city. People from different ages participated in the marathon spontaneously.

The young participants welcomed the initiative and expressed their hope that such events would be arranged in the future too. 

The marathon was completed peacefully and enthusiasm was apparent among the participants.
