No party symbol in local govt elections: Asif Mahmud

Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives Ministry Adviser Asif Mahmud Sajib Bhuiyan has said that there will be no party symbol in the local government elections.
The adviser said this in a post on his verified Facebook page on Thursday (July 24).
He wrote, “There will be no party symbols in local government elections. Today, the Advisory Council meeting approved four amendments to the law in this regard raised by the Local Government Division.”
It is learned that the decision to abolish party symbols has been taken to ensure impartiality and public participation in local-level administration.
