Staff Correspondent, SAVAR, Feb 15: US Ambassador in Dhaka Dan W Mozena said his country’s former National Security Advisor Henry Kissinger’s remark “Bangladesh is a bottomless basket” was totally wrong.
The US envoy came up with the observation during a function at the city outskirts Saver Saturday.
Henry Kissinger, also a former US secretary of state, dubbed Bangladesh as a “bottomless basket” some time after its independence.
“Bangladesh is a country with many possibilities. People here work very hard. Bangladesh will soon be one of the most influential countries in Asia,” Mozena said.
Inaugurating the 12 years’ celebration of Daffodil International University Mozena also termed students as the future builders of Bangladesh.
