Missing couple yet to recue after 48 hours

District Correspondent, RANGAMATI, Mar 21: The tourist couple who were victim of boat capsize in Kaptai lake, could not be recovered.

Members of army, navy and fire service have been continuing rescue operation.

 

Sources said, after capsize of the boat Alauddin Patwari and his wife Ayrin Sultana Lima have been remaining missing.

 

On Friday afternoon, Shahabuddin, elder brother of Alauddin said, after elapse of 48 hours, my brother and his wife have been remaining absent. The diving team also has been carrying out their rescue operation in the Kaptai Lake.

Local police station of Rangamati is remaining vigil on the event, police said.

 

Bangladesh Navy’s local commander Julhas Faisal said, the lake is much deep and we have been trying to do our best to rescue them.

It is learnt, on Wednesday the couple came in Rangamati and made a boating trip on the Kaptai Lake. Their engine boat however, capsized in the stormy weather and they have been remaining missing.
