Staff Correspondent, DHAKA, Mar 31: Reeling from the allegations of faking his Mt Everest climb, Musa Ibrahim said that he had all the evidence needed to prove his conquest.

“I would like to unequivocally state that, with the blessings of almighty Allah and millions of Bangladeshis, I was fortunate enough to reach the summit of the Mount Everest through North Route, Tibet, China on 23 May, 2010,” Musa Ibrahim wrote in a post on his Facebook profile on Monday.

He claimed that few persons were propagating against him in some Bangladeshi media.

In the post, Ibrahim said he was out of country on a family visit.

“As soon as I am back home, I will present all the evidences one more time to the nation and the media to prove the authenticity of the summit. Until then, I urge all concerned to refrain from maligning my character and integrity,” Musa wrote in the post.

Recently an official Nepali publication, `Nepal Parbat`, brought out by the country`s tourism ministry and the Nepal Mountaineering Association (NMA), left out Musa Ibrahim’s name from the list of those who climbed Mt Everest.

Musa Ibrahim has been claiming to be the first from Bangladesh to have conquered the world`s highest peak.

Many in Bangladesh have already contested Ibrahim’s claim. A Dhaka court is hearing a case over Ibrahim’s claim.

Private TV channel Ekattor ran a report on Saturday based on ‘Nepal Parbat’ publication that left out Ibrahim from the list who climbed Mt Everest.

Following the report, Shamsul Alam Babu, one of Ibrahim’s teammate in the Langsisa journey, accused that he (Musa) took certificate even though he did not scale Nepal’s Mount Langsisa Ri.
