Daylong hartal in N’ganj on Sunday

District Correspondent, NARAYANGANJ, May 1: Narayanganj District Bar Association called a dawn to dusk hartal (shutdown) in the district for Sunday protesting the abduction and killing of senior lawyer Chandan Kumar Sarkar.

Sarkar, along with six people including Narayanganj City Corporation Councillor Nazrul Islam were abducted on Sunday.

Their decomposed bodies were found floating at the Shitalakhya River in Narayanganj’s Bandar Upazila on Wednesday.

Sakhawat Hossain, President of Narayanganj District Bar Association, announced the shutdown programme on Thursday.
