BGB sets 15 new outposts in Myanmar border

Suzauddin Rubel: The Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) are setting up 15 new boarder outposts (BOP) to stall drug and arms smuggling along with illegal intrusion of terrorists and Rohingya.
BGB Cox`s Bazar Sector Commander Col Khandakar Farid Hasan said these outposts would ensure better protection in the border area.
While talking to risingbd.com, he also said that BGB has already started setting up the outposts.
Among the 15 new BOPs, 7 will be set up in Naikkhangchhari, 4 in Teknaf and 2 in Ramu.
Col Khandakar Farid Hasan said there was no proper vigilance in Naikkhangchhari border area for a long time. Miscreants were using this area for smuggling. But the new VOPs will help a secure border here and would stop smuggling.
He also said that process were going on to build roads for smooth patrolling of BGB in the area.
