One killed in Noakhali ‘gunfight’

Noakhali Correspondent: A man namely Abul Bashar alias Bashar Member (35) was killed in a ‘gunfight’ with policemen on Friday midnight.

The gunfight took place in Chandraganj Choiani area at around 2.00am.

OC of Begumganj Police said Abul Bashar was a listed terrorist and he was arrested from Sitakunda area. Accompanied by Abul Bashar, a police team conducted a drive in the area for arms haul.  When the police team reached the area, associates of Abul Bashar fired upon them and policemen also fired back that triggered a clash, leaving Abul Bashar bullet injury.

Critically injured Abul Bashar was taken to Noakhali Medical College Hospital, but the duty doctors decaled him dead.
