Ziauddin new ambassador to USA
Staff Correspondent: The Bangladesh Government has decided to appoint Mohammad Ziauddin, Ambassador-at-Large of the Prime Minister, as the new Ambassador of Bangladesh to the United States of America.
Ziauddin will enjoy the rank and status of State Minister in his new appointment, a press release said on Tuesday.
A career diplomat, Ziauddin joined BCS (Foreign Affairs) Cadre with seniority from 1974.
In his distinguished diplomatic career, Ziauddin served in Bangladesh Missions in London, Nairobi and New York in various capacities, the release added.
He also served as Bangladesh ambassador to Italy with concurrent accreditation to Albania and Bosnia-Herzegovina and Permanent Representative to FAO, WFP and IFAD in Rome.
Ziauddin had been serving as Ambassador-at-Large of the Prime Minister with the rank and status of State Minister since 2009.
Ziauddin had completed his Honours and Master’s degrees in English Literature from the University of Dhaka.
He is married and blessed with two children.
