Staff Correspondent: The Government of Bangladesh has decided to appoint Md. Abdul Hannan, currently serving as Bangladesh Ambassador to Switzerland and Permanent Representative to the UN Offices in Geneva and Vienna as the new High Commissioner of Bangladesh to UK.
A career diplomat, Md. Abdul Hannan is a member of the 1984 batch of BCS (Foreign Affairs) Cadre.
In his distinguished diplomatic career, Hannan, besides his present assignment has pursued ambassadorship in Oman.
He also served in Bangladesh Missions in Karachi, Ottawa, Kolkata and Moscow in various capacities.
Md. Abdul Hannan obtained MSS degree in Economics from Chittagong University. He also achieved a Master of Arts in Diplomacy from the University of Lancaster, UK.
He is married and blessed with two sons.
