Morshed, son grilled at ACC

Staff Correspondent: The Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) has interrogated former Foreign Minister M Morshed Khan and his son Faysal Khan in a money laundering case.

ACC Deputy Director and Investigation Officer of the case Mir Zanul Abidin Siddiq began quizzing at 10.00am at the ACC headquarters in the capital on Wednesday.

ACC Public Relations Officer Pranab Kumer Bhattacharya confirmed about the interrogation.

Earlier on December 31 in 2013, ACC Deputy Director M Moniruzzaman Khan filed the case with the city’s Gulshan Police Station against the former minister and two of his family members on charges of laundering over Tk 321,07,53,359 (Tk 321 crore 7 lakh 53 thousand and 359).

According to the statement of the case, Morshed Khan and his family members had siphoned the money to Hong Kong during 2004-2011 through 11 bank accounts of Fareast Telecom Limited, a Morshed Khan establishment at Standard Chartered Bank in Hong Kong.
