Tarique’s wife Zubaida fired

Parliament Correspondent: Health Ministry has dismissed BNP Senior Vice-Chairman Tarique Rahman`s wife Dr. Zubaida Rahman from work for six years of absence.

Breaking the news, in reply to an MP`s query in the Parliament on Monday evening, Health Minister Mohammad Nasim said that the "law is the same for everyone.”

Zubaida has been living in England with her husband Tarique Rahman. Her leave ended on Oct 11, 2011.

Under the government`s service rules, a public servant has to be dismissed if they remain absent from work for over five years.
