Hearing on BNP leaders bail goes on

Hearing on the bail petitions of 10 top leaders of BNP is now going on at the Metropolitan Sessions Judge’s Court in Dhaka. The hearing began at 9.30am.

The hearing is being held on 19 petitions for bail in seven cases filed against 10 top BNP leaders, including BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir and standing committee member Barrister Moudud Ahmed.

The BNP-led 18-party alliance indicated that it might call a two-day countrywide hartal for Tuesday and Wednesday if top leaders of the party are denied bail as their petitions come up for hearing today (Sunday) at the Metropolitan Sessions Judge’s Court in Dhaka.
