Staff Correspondent: Jyotirindra Bodhipriya Larma (aka Shantu Larma) warned the government of launching massive movement if the Chittagong Hill Tracts Accord not implemented within April 30 next year.
The Chakma politician and one of the main leaders of the Parbatya Chattagram Jana Sanghati Samiti came up with the warning while addressing a discussion on the occasion of 17th anniversary of Chittagong Hill Tracts Accord at Sundarban Hotel in city on Tuesday.
Shantu Larma said: “Fire will broke out in hill tracks, if the government does not take fruitful action to implement the agreement within April 30, 2015.”
“It’s not a word, people will sacrifice their lives for the sake of movements’, he added.
Eminent researcher, poet and writer Syed Abul Maksud, Advisor of the Communist Party of Bangladesh (CPB) Manzurul Ahsan Khan, Lawmaker and vice-president of Parbatya Chattagram Jana Sanghati Samity (PCJSS) Ushatan Talukdar Hazera Sultana MP attended in the meeting among others.
