Women work better than men: PM

Staff Correspondent: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has said that the Women work more and better than the men.

“Women are working successfully in all workplaces starting from the household,” the premier came up with the remarks while speaking at a programme on the occasion of Begum Rokeya Day at Osmani Smrity auditorium in the capital on Tuesday.

 

The PM, however, repeatedly said, “I don’t want to mention it that men don’t work, they also work hard.”  

“Begum Rokeya worked for the freedom of the countrymen. Today, as a country we have achieved success on the international arena. We could not do it if she (Rokeya) did not show us the way,” mentioned Sheikh Hasina.

Earlier, the premier gives away the Rokeya Padak 2014 to Jatiya Mohila Sangstha chairman Prof Momtaz Begum and Golap Banu for their contributions to women development.

State Minister for Women and Children Affairs Meher Afroz Chumki presided over the programme.
