Falu lands in jail

Staff Correspondent: BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia`s adviser Mosaddek Ali Falu was sent to jail in connection with an arson case filed with Mirpur Police Station.

Metropolitan Magistrate Mahabubur Rahman of Dhaka on Monday afternoon ordered to send him to jail rejecting his bail prayer.

Earlier in the day, police produced Falu before the court after completion of a five-day remand from him. His lawyer then placed a bail plea which the court rejected.

On January 28, some miscreants set a bus on fire in the capital`s Mirpur area. Later on February 1, police filed a case in this connection.

It is alleged that the BNP leader instigated the opposition activists to carry out an arson attack on the bus.

Members of the law enforcement agency arrested Falu on February 1 in front of the BNP chief’s Gulshan political office in the capital.
