Minister urges beggars to give up begging

Staff Correspondent: After cautioning the beggars, Social Welfare Minister Syed Mohsin Ali has said the beggars have to give up begging otherwise, their accommodations will be arranged under the government`s custody.   

The minister made the remark while speaking at a beggars` congregation as the chief guest held at Bangladesh Medical Association (BMA) Bhaban on Saturday.

At the congregation Mohsin Ali urged to all of the beggars to go to their native regions in the country after giving up this heinous profession.

"The government has taken several projects to rehabilitate the beggars and arranged foods and clothing for them but they are reluctant to give up this profession," Mohsin Ali claimed.  

"Begging will not be considered as a profession and a beggar decries the social position of his/her family. A country gets nothing from a beggar and religions also don`t indulge it," Added the minister.
