Dhaka-Kolkata-Agartala bus service flagged off

Diplomatic Correspondent: Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina have flagged off the Kolkata-Dhaka-Agartala and Dhaka-Shillong-Guwahati bus services in Dhaka on Saturday afternoon.

The inauguration ceremony was held at the Prime Minister`s office in the capital around 4.00pm on the day.

The West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and separate high officials from the two countries were also present, among others, at that time.

Earlier the trail run of bus services between India`s Kolkata and Agartala of Tripura via Bangladesh`s Dhaka has been kicked off from June 1.

Earlier this month, in a bid to boost the communication between two neighboring countries-India and Bangladesh, the trial movement of a new bus service between Dhaka and Guwahati via Shillong has also been kicked off.
