Staff Correspondent: The High Court has fixed July 28 for the hearing on its ruling to stop telecast of three Indian television channels--Star Jalsha, Star Plus and Zee Bangla--in Bangladesh.
Earlier on October 19, 2014, the HC asked the government to explain in four weeks as to why it should not be directed to stop telecast of the three Indian television channels in the country.

Syeda Shahin Ara Laily, a Supreme Court lawyer, submitted the petition to the HC on August 7 last year, saying that programmes broadcast by the three channels left adverse impact on social and cultural life of Bangladeshi people.
Education of the students and regular activities of housewives are being hampered as they watch the channel`s programmes, she mentioned in the petition.
