Chengarchar AL mayoral candidate elected unopposed

Chandpur Correspondent: Rafikul Alam Judge, Awami League-backed mayoral candidate for Chengarchar municipality in Feni district, has been elected unopposed as the Chamber Judge has stayed the hearing on an appeal petition filed by his lone opponent.

Returning Officer Md. Mofijul Islam announced the unofficial result on Tuesday noon.

Earlier, Returning Officer cancelled the nomination paper of BNP-backed mayoral candidate Sarwarul Abedhin Khokon for concealing personal information.

Sarwarul Abedhin Khokon appealed against the cancellation of his nomination paper.
