Two more killed over Chuadanga land feud

Chuadanga Correspondent: Two more persons were killed and several were injured in a clash over land feud between two groups at Gangadaspur in district`s Jibon Nagar upazila on Tuesday morning.

 

The deceased were identified as Shahabuddin, 65, his wife Maleka Khatun, 58.

 

Shahabuddin succumbed around 10 pm on Monday while his wife died at 7:00 am on Tuesay at Jessore Medical College and Hospital (JMCH).

 

Earlier, an Awami League activist also died in the incident. He was known as Mohammad Ali, 50, resident of Gangadaspur.

 

The injured are Abdul Momin, 38, who was admitted to JMCH while Abdul Gafur, 55, Ayub Ali, 52, Amir Hossain, 38 and Suraton Nesa, 62, were taken Jibon Nagar Upazila Health Complex.

 

Agitated locals detained Rezaul Goldar and Ismat Ara, wife of Monirul, and handed over to police while they were trying to flee the village after the incident.

 

Ripon, son fo deceased Shahabuddin, said some 30 to 35 miscreants made exploded seven handbombs at his father`s grocery shop while he (Shahabuddiin) was sitting in it and chopped him indiscriminately by sharp lethal weapons, leaving Mohammad Ali dead on the spot and the others injured.

 

Humayun Kabir, officer-in-charge (OC) of Jibon Nagar Police Station, confirmed the incident.
