Bangladesh Navy gets new chief

Staff Correspondent: Rear Admiral Mohammad Nizamuddin Ahmed has been appointed the new the Chief of Naval Staff.

 

A circular in this regard has been issued by the government on Thursday.

 

According to the media statement by the Inter Service Public Relations Directorate (ISPR), Nizamuddin Ahmed, who has been working as the chairman of the Chittagong Port, was promoted to the rank of vice admiral.

 

His appointment will take effect from Jan 27 and his term would last until Jan 26, 2019.

 

He will replace Admiral Muhammad Farid Habib as the new chief.
