New directions on pay-scale

K M A Hasnat: Fixing salaries of government employees who are appointed newly and who got promotions has been compulsory through the website ` pay fixation`.

 

Besides, the employees who received time scale and selection grade benefits before December 14, will have to include these details while fixing salaries online, otherwise they will not get their new salaries.

 

A circular has recently been issued in this regard, Finance Ministry source this to risingbd.

 

According to circular, signed by Additional Secretary Mohammad Muslim Chowdhury, public servants will not get the 8th pay scale hikes unless they include data on their recruitment, promotion and pay grade change in the pay fixation website.

 

After implementing the 8th pay scale for public servants, the government also made online “pay fixation” mandatory in order to avoid the old lengthy and corruption-prone paper-based system.

 

The pay fixation website – www.payfixation.gov.bd – went live on December 18 and the process also began on that day.

Government is preparing an accurate database about salaries and the other information of the public service holders.

 

In a bid to update the database, the Finance Ministry directed that if there is any change of salaries for any reason after July 1, 2015, will have to update through the website.
