2 CMP female officials getting Women Police Award

Staff Correspondent, Chittagong: Two female officials of Chittagong Metropolitan Police (CMP) have been selected for Women Police Awards as the recognition of their outstanding contributions in professional duties.
The female officials are CMP`s senior assistant commissioner Mahmuda Begum and officer-in-charge (OC) of Chittagong`s Sadarghat Police Station (additional) Morjina Akter Morju.
The official letter concerned reached CMP on March 27, sources confirmed.
Bangladesh police have launched the Women Police Award for the first time in the country to recognise exemplary female police officers.
33 female officials have already been selected in six categories this year. They will be conferred a crest, certificate and Tk10,000 each in a programme at Bashundhara Convention Centre in the capital on March 31.
The speaker of the Parliament Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury is expected to attend the programme as chief guest, and the home minister and state minister of women affairs are the special guests.
The categories are Bangladesh Police Women Leadership Award, Excellence in Action, Medal of Courage, Community Service, Peace-keeping Mission Special Honour Award and Entrepreneur Women Organise of the Year Award.
