Imran H Sarkar receives death threat

Desk Report: A man calling over phone from abroad has threatened to kill Gonojagoron Moncho spokesperson Imran H Sarker on Sunday evening.

After receiving the threat, Imran, on his official Facebook page, wrote a status about the threat.

His status reads, “I have been issued a death threat from a number belonging to a code of ‘United Kingdom’ at 7:12pm on Sunday. It has been said that I will be soon killed. Asked about the identity of the person issuing death threat, he avoided responding to my question. He repeatedly threatened to kill me. Then, he disconnected the phone.”

Imran was also threatened in May along with several others, including Dhaka University Vice-chancellor Dr AAMS Arefin Siddique and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina`s Adviser HT Imam.
