Scuffle among Hiron-Kamal’s supporters

BARISAL, June 15: Supporters of mayoral candidates of Barisal City Corporation (BCC) election Shawkat Hossain Hiron and Ahsan Habib Kamal locked into a scuffle during voting hours on Saturday morning.
The scuffle erupted when local leader of Jatiyotabadi Bastuhara Dal Abul Kashem tore the election symbol ‘Television’ tagged in chest of Palashpur Awami League vice president Sobhan at 9:45am.
After the incident, additional law enforcers were deployed in the polling center-Shahid Ziaur Rahman School where some 2,348 voters would cast ballots.
Meanwhile, both the Candidates expressed their confidence of wining the polls, if the polls ended peacefully.
Number of reserved wards in BCC is 10 and general wards 30. Number of voters is 211257 among which male are 107625 and female are 103632.
