Police’s morale couldn’t be made weak: AIG

Additional Inspector General of Police Mokhlesur Rahman

Staff Correspondent: Additional Inspector General (AIG) of Police Mokhlesur Rahman said that the morale of police could not be made weak by killing wife of Babul Akter, superintendent of police of Dhaka police headquarters.

He came up with the immediate reaction over the murder while talking to reporters at police headquarters in city on Sunday.

AIG Mokhlesur Rahman said that the incident of the murder would be investigated with top priority. But militants might be involved in the murder of Mahmuda Aktar, wife of Superintendent of Police Babul Aktar.

He said, “Babul Aktar is an efficient officer and played a key role in apprehending militants. They killed his wife because they failed to get him. But this incident won’t demoralise the police department.”

A case will be filed in this connection. The attackers behind the murder must be arrested, he added.

Earlier on the day, three attackers, who came on a motorcycle, ambushed Mahmuda in front of her 6-year-old son. They stabbed her before shooting in the head.
