Ghulam Rahman says graft reduces at upper level

Anti-Corruption Commission Chairman Ghulam Rahman talks to the reporters while leaving his office in the capital on Sunday afternoon.

DHAKA, June 23: Corruption level remains the same among mid and ground level people though its intensity reduced in upper level, claimed Anti-Corruption Commission Chairman Ghulam Rahman on the last day of his 4-year tenure on Sunday.

He identified lengthy trial process as the main hindrance to the commission’s activities and made an advance call to his successor for concentrating on prosecution process by the ACC.

Ghulam Rahman, who is the first commissioner to complete tenure of chairmanship since its formation in 2004, made the comments to reporters while leaving the ACC office in the capital in the afternoon.

The outgoing chairman handed over his charge to the ACC Commissioner Badiuzzaman Khan, ACC sources said.
