7 honoured with Bangla Academy fellowship

Staff Correspondent: Seven prominent figures of the country were honoured with ‘Bangla Academy Fellowship -2016’ for their contributions to different sectors.

Besides, three honourary awards conducted by Bangla Academy have been given to three eminent persons for their contribution to the field of literature.

The fellowships were conferred at the 39th annual general meeting of the academy held on Saturday at its premises in the capital.

The Fellowship winners are- Toab Khan (Journalism), Barrister Rafique-Ul Haque (law and good governance), Emeritus professor Alamgir Mohammad Sirajuddin (education and research), Emeritus professor Dr AK Azad Chowdury (education), Begum Mushtari Shafi (freedom fighter), Rathindranath Roy (music) and Shykh Siraj (agricultural development).
