Palestinian President arrives in Dhaka

Staff Correspondent: Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas arrived in Dhaka on Wednesday on a three-day official visit.
A special flight carrying Abbas and his entourage landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport this afternoon.
President Hamid received the Palestinian President near the VVIP Tarmac of Hazarat Shahjalal International Airport amid a 21-gun salute.
Palestinian foreign minister Reyad Al Malki, chief justice of Palestine and the religious affairs minister Mahmoud al-Habbas, the Palestinian Authority spokesman and senior military and civil officials are accompanying the Palestinian president.
On Thursday, the Palestinian President will place floral wreaths at National Memorial at Savar to pay his homage to the martyrs of the War of Liberation of Bangladesh.
Later, he will hold a meeting with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
Mahmoud Abbas also will hold a meeting with the Leader of the Opposition at Jatiya Sangsad Raushan Ershad.
President Abbas will leave Dhaka on Friday noon (February 3).
