'People being cheated by mobile banking'

Economic Correspondent: Former governor of Bangladesh Bank Dr Mohammad Faras Uddin opined that people of the country are being cheated by mobile banking.
The ex-governor of central bank made the opinion while addressing a programme at National Board of Revenue (NBR) in the capital on Thursday.
He said that mobile banking service providers are taking Tk 1.86 during exchange of Tk100. This is one kinds of cheating with people.
In the same case, others banking system of the country is taking only Tk. 0.40 only. So, the charge of mobile banking should not more than Tk 0.40, Faras Uddin said.
The concerned authority should think about the issue, he added.
NBR Chairman Najibur Rahman presided over the programme where FBCCI president Abdul Matlub Ahmad, NBR member Abdul Razzak and other high officials attended.
