Gabtoli clash: 7 transport workers put on remand

Staff Correspondent: A Dhaka court placed seven transport workers on one day remand in a case filed over transport vandalism in Gabtoli bus terminal in the capital on Thursday.

Dhaka metropolitan magistrate Alamgir Kabir granted the remand on Thursday.

The accused are - Rafiqul Islam, Hasanur, Rabin, Sohel, Fazle Rabbi, Alamin and Enamul Haque.

Sub-Inspector Zobayed of Darussalam police station also Investigation Officer (IO) of the case produced them before the court seeking seven days remand.

Earlier, the transport workers engaged in violence with police at Gabtoli on Tuesday and Wednesday during their countrywide strike. A police car was also torched in that time.

Later, SI Biswajit Paul of Darussalam police station filed the case.
