Khaleda to appear before court today

Staff Correspondent: BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia is scheduled to appear before two courts in Zia Charitable Trust and Zia Orphanage graft cases today (April 13).
Her lawyer Sanaullah Mia confirmed the news.
Of the cases, the procedures of Zia Orphanage graft case are under trial at Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Kamrul Hossain Mollah's Court in at the capital's Bakshibazar while Zia Charitable Trust graft case is running at Dhaka's Special Judge Court-3 Abu Ahmed Jomadar's court.
The Zia Orphanage graft case is set for Khaleda's self-statement while the Zia Charitable Trust graft case is scheduled for concluding the incomplete statement on self-defence.
On August 8, 2011, the ACC filed the Zia Charitable Trust graft case with Tejgaon Police Station accusing four people, including Khaleda, of raising funds for the trust from unknown sources abusing power.
The Zia Orphanage graft case was filed by the ACC on July 3, 2008, with Ramna Police Station for misappropriating over Tk 2.10 crore that was received as grants for orphans via a foreign bank.
