Police working for establishing peace in world

Staff Correspondent: The United Nations (UN) lauded the role of Bangladesh Police in establishing peace across the world, said a press release issued from police headquarters on Tuesday afternoon.

The UN officials praised the Bangladesh Police while making a courtesy call to Inspector General of Bangladesh Police (IGP) AKM Shahidul Hoque who is now on a visit to the United States.

The skill, professionalism and bravery of Bangladesh Police in establishing peace in war-torn countries are maintaining high standard, said Jean Pierre, under-secretary-general for Safety and Security of UN.

During the meeting, IGP Shahidul Hoque said Bangladesh police have been able to prove their skill and bravery in establishing peace across the world. He thanked the UN authority for giving an opportunity to Bangladesh police to help take part in its peacekeeping activities, said the press release.
