21 new Anthrax victims detected in Sirajganj

Sirajganj Correspondent: Twenty one more Anthrax infected people have been identified at Kaliakoir and Mohonpur village under Ullahpara upazila in Sirajganj district in the last two days.

Upazila health and family planning officer Dr Jafrul Islam confirmed this to risingbd.com on Wednesday.

A medical team from upazila health complex is providing treatment in the villages.

Sources said that they were infected after taking meat of a cow, which were carrying the germ of Anthrax disease. The bullock was slaughtered by one Serajul Islam Arif on May 29.

Earlier, on Tuesday, a total of 15 people were infected with Anthrax.
