Actress rape: Ivan gives confessional statement 

Staff Correspondent: Bahauddin Ivan, the sole accused of actress rape at Banani, has given confessional statement before a Dhaka court.

Metropolitan Magistrate Sadbir Yasir Ahsan Chowdhury recorded his confessional statement under section 164 of Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC) at his chamber on Wednesday.

Ivan was produced before the court as he agreed to give confessional statement during four-day remand ended Wednesday.

Later, he was sent to jail.

According to the case statement filed with Banani Police Station, the 21-year-old girl stated that Ivan allegedly called her on July 5 to his Banani house on Road-2 and raped her.

Rab arrested Ivan from Narayanganj on July 6.
