Govt to produce 60-megawatt power from Dhaka's waste

Parliament Correspondent: State Minister for Power and Energy Nasrul Hamid that it is possible to produce 60 megawatt electricity from Dhaka's waste. The government has taken initiatives to produce electricity and thermal energy through science-based waste management.
The Minister told this to the parliament while replying a question on Wednesday.
He said two cities of Dhaka produced about 6 to 7 metric ton wastes daily. Only half of this waste is found at dumping sites. It is possible to produce 60-megawatt electricity from this waste.
