Gold, cigarettes sized at Dhaka Airport

Staff Correspondent: Customs Intelligence has seized 867 grams of gold and 204 cartons of banned foreign-made cigarettes at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport Thursday.

Customs authority said that acting on a tip-off, Customs members scanned the luggage of Biplab Hossain who had been travelling from Malaysia to Dhaka, and seized 62 pieces of gold, 13 finger rings and a chain.



Besides, the law enforcers seized 204 cartons of banned cigarettes from belt number-5 in abandoned condition.

Dhaka Customs joint director Sohel Rahman confirmed the matter to risingbd.com.
