Charge framed against MP Rana

Staff Correspondent: A court in Tangail framed charges against ruling party MP Amanur Rahman Khan Rana for the murder of freedom fighter Faruk Ahmed.
Additional District and Sessions Judge Abul Mansur Miah framed the charges around 11:00am.
Earlier, MP Rana was brought from Kashimpur Central Jail in Gazipur and produced before the court around 9:00am on Wednesday.
The court also fixed October 18 for hearing on witnesses account.
Earlier on May 8, the Appellate Division stayed the HC order four months and asked the court to dispose the case within six months.
On April 13, HC bench of Justice Md Miftah Uddin Choudhury and Justice ANM Bashir Ullah granted anticipatory bail to MP Rana.
Alongside, the court also issued a rule asking the authority concern as to why permanent bail should not be granted to him.
Later, the state filed a petition to the Appellate Division against the order.
Faruk Ahmed, member of Tangail District Awami League, was shot to death on January 18, 2013.
Rana was sent to jail after he surrendered before the court in the case on September 18, 2016.
