Case filed over Mirpur raid

Staff Correspondent: A case has been filed in connection with the explosions that killed seven people at the suspected militant hideout in Dhaka’s Mirpur.

A deputy assistant director of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) filed the case.

Darussalam Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md Selimuzzaman confirmed the filing of the case on Thursday afternoon.

"An unusual death case was filed on Wednesday night. Next step will be taken after investigating the case," the OC said.

Seven bodies were recovered from the spot after the blasts. The bodies have been included in seizure list for autopsy, according to the case.

RAB officials cordoned off the suspected militant hideout in Dhaka’s Mirpur on Monday night. The militants blasted some crude bombs at the spot on Tuesday night.
